Sinn Féin Dáil leader Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD has called on the Taoiseach to hold a special summit meeting with the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on the issue of collusion. Ferris welcomes Brazilian beef ban

The Sinn Féin Spokesperson on Agriculture, Martin Ferris TD, has welcomed the decision by the EU to impose a temporary ban on the importation of beef from Brazil. Deputy Ferris was responding to the announcement this afternoon by Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou that imports would not be permitted because of concerns over the origin of the beef submitted by the Brazilian authorities.
