Dublin North West - Dessie Ellis
Dessie Ellis is a member of Dublin City Council since 1999 and has served on the party's Ard Chomhairle. He is from the Dunsink /Wellmount area of Finglas and is a fluent Irish speaker. Dessie is a former Trade Union shop steward. He has always been active in local community and sporting organisations.
Dessie has been actively involved in the community's fight against "joy-riding" and drug pushing and works closely with local Residents' Committes. Since his election to Dublin City Council in 1999, Dessie has been very active on an almost full-time basis. He runs four Advice Centres per week and is active in campaigning on issues such as housing, rents, social welfare and pensions.
He is campaigning for real investment for the area and calling for resources for public transport, roads and supported the regeneration of Finglas and Ballymun.
