Carlow/Kilkenny - Kathleen Funchion
Kathleen Funchion is originally from Callan and currently lives in Kilkenny city. She joined the party in August of 2003 and was very active in Kilkenny city during the 2004 local elections.
Kathleen is 24 years of age and was selected as the general election candidate for the Carlow/Kilkenny constituency in June of 2005. She has a first class honours degree in Behavioural Science with a concentration in Sociology from the American College Dublin.
Currently she is the Equality Officer for the Leinster area for the party and is also in full time employment. She has also been involved with human rights work and was part of a human rights delegation that travelled to Colombia in June of this year to examine the human rights abuses that exist in Colombia.
