Joanne Spain is 27 years of age and has been a member of Sinn Féin for several years. She is originally from Coolock but now lives in Blanchardstown with her partner, former editor of An Phoblacht Martin Spain, and their baby daughter, Isobel.
She has a degree in politics and philosophy from Trinity College and worked as a journalist for Sinn Féin's newspaper An Phoblacht for four years. She also worked in the party's national press office and as Dublin Sinn Féin Public Relations Officer.
